On the directives of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, the full fledged Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) in Gomal University has been established in 2014 to link research and commercialization from the Gomal University with emerging and existing firms across Pakistan and around the world. ORIC will develop it mechanism for research commercialization and will establish a Business/Technology Incubator to work closely for innovation and entrepreneurship. Gomal University laid the foundation of ORIC in September 2014. Since inception, ORIC had started working its activities as per HEC guideline. ORIC is committed to provide continuous support and facilitation to the researchers for the conduct of quality research in the university. Contributions of this office are reflecting in the Annual Report of Gomal University, 2019. Ten (10) research projects in National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) in the fields of Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Agriculture, won 02 thematic research, 01 from NGO and 01 Research Award of the Foundation Plants for Healthand 13 start up research grants earned by faculty members in year 2018-19 besides winning numerous start up research grants by fresh Ph.D faculty members appointed as Intern Placement for Foreign Students (IPFP), which have also recently been awarded.
